Card Component Design Document
Overview
The Card component is a foundational component in this component library used to implement content card functionality. It continues the consistent design philosophy of our component library, adopting the principles of "minimalism" and "container abstraction." It implements a clean and flexible content container solution through card.vue.
The Card component focuses on providing the basic container structure for content display, offering users a lightweight and intuitive way to organize content. It supports custom sizes, background colors, and flexible content layouts, effectively improving user experience in information display and content organization. As one of the most basic container components in the component library, Card serves as the foundation for building more complex components.
Design Philosophy
Minimalist Design
The Card component strictly follows minimalist design principles:
- Minimal Feature Set - Provides only the most basic content container functionality
- Non-Intrusive - Does not enforce any specific styles or interactions
- Pure Container - Focuses on content organization without adding extra features
This design keeps the component lightweight while offering maximum flexibility.
Container Abstraction
The Card component adopts the concept of container abstraction:
- Structure Abstraction - Abstracts content areas into three logical regions: header, body, and footer
- Style Decoupling - Achieves separation of styles and structure through props
- Content Agnostic - Does not care about specific content, only provides the container structure
This design enables the Card component to adapt to various content scenarios and serves as the foundation for building more complex components.
Core Feature Design
Structured Container
The core of the Card component lies in its structured container design:
<div class="my-card" :style="cardStyle">
<div class="my-card__header">
<slot name="header"></slot>
</div>
<div class="my-card__body">
<slot name="body"></slot>
</div>
<div class="my-card__footer">
<slot name="footer"></slot>
</div>
</div>Container Features:
- Semantic Regions - Clearly divides header, body, and footer areas
- Flexible Layout - Uses flex layout for adaptive content areas
- Content Isolation - Isolates content in each region to prevent style pollution
- No Default Styles - Provides only basic layout without adding extra visual styles
Style Management Mechanism
The style management mechanism of the Card component is designed as follows:
const cardStyle = useStyleComputed(props, {
propToStyleMap: {
backgroundColor: 'backgroundColor',
width: 'width',
height: 'height'
}
})Style Management Features:
- Property Mapping - Maps props to CSS styles through propToStyleMap
- Dynamic Calculation - Uses useStyleComputed to dynamically compute styles
- On-Demand Application - Applies styles only when the corresponding prop exists
- Style Isolation - Avoids global style pollution
Component Structure Design
Overall Structure
The overall structure of the Card component is as follows:
<div class="my-card" :style="cardStyle">
<div class="my-card__header">
<slot name="header"></slot>
</div>
<div class="my-card__body">
<slot name="body"></slot>
</div>
<div class="my-card__footer">
<slot name="footer"></slot>
</div>
</div>Component Hierarchy
The Card component contains three key parts:
- Container -
.my-card- Wraps the entire card component and uses flex layoutscss.my-card { display: flex; flex-direction: column; } - Header Area -
.my-card__header- Title and action area of the card - Content Area -
.my-card__body- Main content display area of the card - Footer Area -
.my-card__footer- Footer content such as action buttons
Structure Design Features:
- Semantic Clarity - Clearly expresses the semantics of each part through class names
- Reasonable Layout - Uses flex layout for adaptive content areas
- No Default Spacing - Does not add default margins; controlled by the user
- Content Neutral - Makes no assumptions about content types
Interaction Design
Container Interaction Characteristics
As a basic container, the Card component's interaction design is mainly reflected in:
- Passive Interaction - As a content container, it does not provide interactions itself but carries interactive content
- Structural Support - Supports interactive design of content through clear region division
- Style Feedback - Implements interactive state feedback through external styles
This design allows the Card component to adapt to various interaction scenarios, supporting everything from static display to complex interactions.
Content Integration
The integration design of the Card component with content is as follows:
- Slot Mechanism - Provides content customization capability through named slots
- Content Isolation - Isolates content in each region to avoid style conflicts
- Flexible Nesting - Supports nesting other components to build more complex interfaces
This design makes the Card component a basic building block for constructing more complex components.
Extensibility Design
The Card component has excellent extensibility:
- Size Extension - Supports flexible size configuration through width and height properties
- Style Extension - Supports custom background color through the backgroundColor property
- Content Extension - Supports insertion of any content through the slot mechanism
- Composition Capability - Can be combined with other components to build more complex interfaces
- Theme Adaptation - Supports theme customization through style properties
Style Details
The Card component has the following characteristics in style handling:
- Basic Layout - Provides only the most basic flex layoutscss
.my-card { display: flex; flex-direction: column; } - No Default Styles - Does not add borders, shadows, or other visual styles
- Content Neutral - Does not add default margins or padding to content areas
- Style Isolation - Ensures style isolation through BEM naming convention
- Responsive Foundation - Provides the basic structure for responsive design
Performance Optimization
Performance is optimized through the following methods:
- Lightweight Implementation - Contains only necessary structure and logic
- No Complex Computations - Avoids unnecessary reactive calculations
- On-Demand Rendering - Renders only the actually used content areas
- Minimal Styles - Provides only basic layout styles
- No Event Listeners - As a pure container, no event listeners are added
Design Value
The Card component continues the design philosophy of our component library:
- Minimalism - Provides only the most necessary functionality, keeping the component lightweight
- Container Abstraction - Focuses on content organization without adding extra features
- Clear Structure - Provides a clear structure through semantic region division
- High Flexibility - Adapts to various content scenarios and design requirements
- Basic Building Block - Serves as the foundational unit for building more complex components
